Antiques Appraisal Program with Tom Bassett

The delightful, knowledgeable, and entertaining Tom Bassett is back to tell you how much that family heirloom is really worth!  Each person can bring 1 item for Tom to appraise. For items too large or heavy to bring, you may bring a printed photograph. The items will be placed on the tables at the front of the room. Tom will go through them one by one and the audience can listen and learn about all of the items Tom appraises. 

A little about Tom: He was a professional auctioneer for 10 years and teaches classes at Southeast Community College on antiques and coins.  Tom was a regular guest on KFOR radio’s call-in show “Problems & Solutions” for over 20 years.  He helped listeners learn about evaluating and researching antiques and collectible items.  Gov. Mike Johanns even appointed Tom to the Nebraska quarter design committee in 2002. In 1983, he conducted what is likely the largest antique appraisal in the history of Nebraska when he appraised Pioneer Village in Minden, Nebraska.
