Knights in Shining Armor

The "knight in shining armor" is a legendary figure of history, capturing the interest and imagination of many.  For five hundred years, the medieval knight was the most formidable fighting man of the Middle Ages.  But have you ever wondered what all that armor and weaponry was really like?  What did knights actually wear?  How did they fight?  Come and see a display and listen to a family friendly presentation by teacher and historian Shane Johnson on his medieval knight collection of armor, helmets, shields, clothing, flags, swords and other weapons, and learn not only how the knight dressed and fought, but how he changed and evolved over time.  This will be an enjoyable, hands-on, educational experience as we dive into the world of the medieval knight and one of the most romantic and violent times in history!  At the end of the program, the audience will have a chance to try on some of the pieces!
